After leaving the Circle, Joshua sat in his car, plotting out the best route to get to the Museum so he could pick up Ollie and Ryan. As he thought, his hands idly pulled one of the pistols from his shoulder rig, and he checked it over as if on autopilot. When he realized what he was doing, he just looked at the gun, admiring its design. The rubber in the grip, perfect angles of the steel, the lineup of the sights. The heft in his hand felt natural.

When he was 19, he'd picked up a book ...

Bacchus rolled into town on a beaten dirty and yet sturdy motorcycle slowly scanning the familiar landscape of his upbringing and various escapades upon his Awakening, wondering all the while what awaited him as a lot happens in such short times and six months was no small amount of time. He found a far amount changed with a certain lack of spirit activity, he’d expected change but not absence which set a slight chill through him. He went by some old haunts and didn’t really notice anything ...

Recent events had driven home to Animus that no one in the city was safe. Even elders had little protection from the sniper's bullet. He couldn't help the dead, nor could he help anyone else if he joined them, but he could shift the odds, honing his body to a toughness sleepers could only imagine. Wild coincidence had saved his life once -- once too often. His life was in his own hands now.

Animus sits on the floor of his sanctum, chanting in the Atlantean tongue. The Imago in his mind ...

He wasn't sure why he had kept the flowers. He'd remembered Vegas' comment of sympathy and realised that the flowers would have sympathy with Wallflower. Even with this knowledge, he still kept them in the plastic pitcher. His healing spell had allowed some of the plants to begin root systems. Others had still died but the water in the makeshift vase now had plenty of tendrils running through it. If he could get a pot, Theo was pretty sure the flora would survive indefinitely.

The sanctum was becoming something of a second home for Theo. He had expanded from only coming to visit for the library to other endeavors.

He had begun to do his hour of meditation there. The hollow emited an aura of something Theo would describe as sublime.

Theo had actually taken an interest in the hollow itself. Having read a little about Loci in the library, Theo began experementing with the sanctum hollow. There wasn't a perfect resemblence between hollows and loci but it was enough ...

Seconds later the lady who lived there opened it to start yelling in Spanish. After the long long day he'd had, Theo wasn't in the mood to apologize. He kept going steadly up the stairs, shooting a couple insults back to her in Spanish as well. It really was unsuprising some of the first words people learned in a foreign language were curse words he thought.

The problem was that the arcane information dealt almost exclusively with spirits and while he found that subject fascinating in it's own right he was after more information than just that. Orphan had gotten up pretty early, as was typical for him. Due to the rigorous physical and mental conditioning he’d done during his year with his Legacy tutor, Typhoon, he seemed to get by okay on a little less sleep than most people, plus his meditation rituals helped him sleep more soundly, and wake up feeling more refreshed, than had been the case before his Awakening. But on this day, he’d set his watch alarm to wake ...

Whenever he had noticed this in the past, he’d always felt a bit proud of it—in a sort of quasi-Buddhist, “never have more than you can bring with you if you have to leave” sort of way—but now he felt a bit sad about it. Bitter, and diminished.

Was this all he had gathered in his life? Was this all he had accomplished?

Tired eyes scanned the small wad of letters in his hands.

Reading her note, he then sits back down in front of the disassembled Fabrique Nationale pistol. ...

The payphone takes a moment to start ringing, and the dry heat of early afternoon sweeps lazily down the avenue.

Ring two. Few walk outside. It's a weekday and past lunch-hour, people who aren't at work are like to seek out what a/c they can. A car passes by in no great hurry and its thickset passenger looks half asleep as his radio spits out a "Whitesnake" ballad. Ring three.

It was a long trip, from Baltimore to Sacramento. Plenty of time to mull over the mistakes he had made. Mistakes that had almost gotten them all killed. That his companions didn't even know half of the story was the only thing that made it bearable. He massaged his temples, trying to relax, but seeing his hands always brought the memory of the blood on them. Her blood.

He tried focusing on other things. Sacramento. A mystery. His information was sketchy, and the thought of going in nearly ...

The further ones revealed what they were: enormous chess pieces. The ground revealed their setting. Shining black and white squares, polished to a mirror finish, stretched in every direction. The sharp odor of citrus and sweat invaded his senses.

West looked at Armadia. He wasn't judging. He had sins of his own that were worse than pride and compromised ideals. What Armadia couldn't understand were the duty and obligation he had to Azrael and Circe. Undeclared Apostates. Potential Arrows.

'You will know them by their fruits'. I will not be a false prophet.

These are the future Armadia. Our legacy to them cannot be hollow words. The Adamant Way is who and what we are, not just what we say.
