I just wanted y'all to know, I am absolutely loving STing for such a diverse and cool bunch of characters, and such excellent roleplayers. Some days (like today) I get less opportunity (due to work demands) than others to post, but I take every opportunity I can, not just to keep up, but also due to the sheer enjoyment. Some of the characters' antics make me laugh (Sean, Taylor, Mariel and Heathcliff), some of y'all make me shudder (Dr. Lazarus, especially), and others just keep me thinking ...

For the Invictus, this is the rules as written for naming conventions: (note, that these are merely guideliens.)

To refer to an individual in the submissive voice, one

precedes the name with Most, an ingratiating (and complimentary)

term, and the title of tribute (if there is one

— the title of esteem if there is not), followed by the

vampire’s name, if and only if the title of tribute is not

unique.

An address in the formal tone is a simple combination

One of the neat things about Vampire is the wide variety of basic character types one can come up with by combining clan, covenant and maybe bloodline. A mekhet tends to be a very different character from a ventrue, and a Carthian mekhet is likely to be a lot different from a Sanctified mekhet. Toss in bloodlines and things become even more diverse. A Nalapsi and a Toreador are likely to be very different from each other even if both serve the same covenant, despite both being daeva.

So, if the people playing characters who have been in play for some time can use this thread to write a very brief into to your characters, that would be great.
I'm going to say it again.

Coteries.

They're a good thing.

One can enjoy being part of a large, complex setting like Twilight Valley and still be part of a smaller group of trusted friends, professional associates, clanmates, fellow covenant members or just plain allies of circumstance.

From both a playing and a ST standpoint, there is a lot to be said for coteries. For one thing, it's easier and a lot more time-effective to come up with story hooks for a group of characters ...

For as many vampires as there are at Twilight Valley, I've not noticed a lot of feeding. That's a shame, really.

Personally, I detest the mechanics-based feeding rules in the V:tR book. The reduce feeding to a probability equation... Haven Location or Herd score adds X to your dice pool, blah blah blah. Booooooring. The game is Vampire: the Requiem, not Accounting: the Tedium.
I am wanting to see feeding posts from each active Requiem character on a regular basis - at least every two weeks. As I noted in my essay further down the page(titled "Blood Sucking Fiends), feeding is an essential part of what makes a vampire a vampire. It's part of the horror of the game, and how a vampire feeds is part of that character's personality.

Striking Looks is a PHYSICAL feature that your character has that makes him or her stand out in a crowd. Someone cannot tell that your character is "free-spirited", "Trustworthy", or "Self-confident" just by glacing at you from across a crowded room. If you wish to take this merit then (as is stated in the site rules) there needs to be an adjective that describes something about your physical being. "Intense Gaze", "Agile", ...

There seems to have been some meta-plot that involved widespread death and destruction among not just the Kindred but other supernaturals as well.
