Boxing 101

"Nothing, I'm just tired. I think that's enough for one evening."

Darren starts to take his gloves off and heads out of the room, trying to avoid eye contact.

"Darren stop it...What's wrong," she murmurs, ripping off her gloves and tugging his hand.

He stops in his tracks and turns on the spot, sadness in his eyes.

"Its just...I don't agree with hitting women."

"I... Darren do you want to talk about it? You were teaching me, not hurting me," she murmurs, sitting down.

He sits on the floor and pulls off his gloves.

"Sorry, sorry," he says, "Just brought back the memory of Katie, my cousin. You know, that bastard hit her so many times, her rib cracked and punctured her lung? If I hadn't had got there so soon...well, you can guess."

"I know we were training, and I shouldn't be so fucking idiotic. You're right though, what's the point of knowing what its like to hit someone if you don't know what its like to be hit. I let my emotions run away with me. Forgive me," he says.

"No Darren, its okay... I wont ever ask you to hit me again, we can just spar lightly and we can just tap eachother..." she murmurs sitting next to him and nudging him with a smile.

"That'll be good," he replies, stifling a yawn.

"Didn't realize I was so tired, sorry."

"Cmon, lets go to bed," she murmurs just as her phone starts buzzing.

"Oh damn..." she breathes, looking. "Hell Darren, there's a Ventrue meeting and its mandatory, I have to go."

Darren stands at the seriousness of her voice.

"I'll throw some clothes on and get ready."

"Love I dont know if you should go... I... Unless you wait in the car... My sire will be there, and she's not very happy with me, I wouldnt want her to hurt you." she murmurs.

"Then would it be best for me to stay here? Would that make it easier?"

"Yes but... I want you with me, damn this is hard..." she frowns.

"We need to buy a car, that will solve one problem because you can be near me without being seen if we get tinted windows... I have enough cash to get whatever we want... But for tonight... I guess I should go alone, do you want me to txt you when I get there and when I'm coming home to you?" she asks, putting up her hair and tugging on a demure out fit.

"Yeah, that would ease my mind, stop me worrying. Well, that and one of the Guiness' you stocked in the fridge," He says, moving in to hug her tightly, making sure she understands how much he loves her.

"There's a newspaper on the table, maybe find us a nice car mm? It can be used I dont care, just something that you and I can get around in," she murmurs, "but something pretty." she leans into his hug.

"Be safe," he murmurs into her hair.

"Promise," she murmurs, kissing him one more time and taking her phone and purse, leaving him some cash.

"Order out some food, I've heard theres a 24 hour Pizza place right down the block, I cant starve you and work you to death," she smiles reassuringly and heads to the meeting place.

Dragging the sofa from the door, Darren kisses her one last time before she goes and he is alone again.

"I hate pizza," he mumbles.
