A New Tune
The shop's wall supported row upon row of brand, spanking new electric guitars in all manner of peculiar shapes and brilliant colours, and Pryderi had to chose one to replace his cherished acoustic.
No, not replace; Rejuvenate. That is what Pryderi needed in his life now, to wake up and smell the Mantle that surrounded him. Hope and inspiration, that is what he was good at, and it is what he had been lacking since escaping the Hedge. He had been so wrapped up in his own self-loathing, the Fairest had forgotten what it was to laugh and enjoy life.
Nightfall had shown him that with his 'fairy dust' prank. Pryderi returned home that night alone, without the guitar that had seen him through his initial time out of Arcadia and he was relieved. Possessing a new outlook and with a kick up the arse he deserved, Pryderi had decided that his life required a new type of song.
Hence, the purchase of a new guitar; an electric one at that. The instrument needed to say something to his soul and he thought that he had found it.
A Fender 1952 Deluxe-Ash Telecaster in sunflower yellow with a contrasting black neck, it represented everything that Pryderi was searching. Removing it from the rack and setting it up in a test amp, Pryderi ran his plectrum along the strings and felt renewed.
