Sterling Hotel

Elle parks her slate grey pick up in the hotel parking lot. She shuts off the engine but leaves the radio on, some emo shit about whining on the speakers.

She sighs deeply, leaning foreward to rest her head on the steering wheel, she is already chafing at doing this little task for the Invictus, this nonesensical bullshit of titles already baffling her and making her exceedlingly cranky.

Fuck this shit, how did Davis stand this... And he was a goddamn Gangrel... How did he keep himself so under control.. God. I'll do this task to help Scotts, not for the Invictus, this will be my first little helper task to her, she's smart enough to keep on my goodside, and... she appreciated Davis... Davis....

She shakes her head hard, clunking it gently on the steering wheel a couple times, thinking of many things she would rather be doing than sitting here at a hotel looking for some missing dude. She finally calms down her jittering nerves (having gone without a fix for several nights) and gets out, planning on going to Davis's later and collecting the rest of his stuff, or at least shit that nobody else would want.

She gets out of the truck and heads into the hotel.

The receptionist greets you.
"Good day madam would you..." She notices Mr. Lopez behind you.

"The owner mentioned you would be coming, please head to the Lilac conference room, level 2. We have been expecting you."

"Thank you," Elle replies heading to the lift with Mr. Lopez behind her, finding it a bit odd to have someone elses ghoul follow her.

You enter, and there are 3 men in the room. They are all well dressed as members of the hotel staff.

"Madam Lady Whip Scotts has instructed us to answer any questions you might have."

"Thank you for speaking with me gentlemen, I am looking for a Mr. Fillipe?' she says, seating herself and crossing those long legs.

"Mr. Fillipe was the Maitre De of the restaurant, When Icarus died, he ran; we told him not to, but he did it anyway."

"Do you have any addresses for him? Where he lived or stayed?" she asks, scribbling this down on a piece of paper scrounged from her pocket.

"He lived here at the hotel, like the rest of us do. He occasionally went to his mother's." He gives the address.

"Thank you, will you please show me his room?" she asks, politely.

"Certainly miss." One of them takes you up to his room.

The room looks like it was hastily left. There are clothes and other things spread out on the floor. It also has a signifigant layer of dust.

Elle hunts around the room as hard as she can, focusing deeply on the task, wanting this overwith.

You look around, and find a few items of drug paraphenalia, but no actual drugs. The clothes here are cheap uniforms, there should be an expensive uniform here, there isn't. No jewelry, or anything else of value, remains in the room.

Elle sighs, "please check the surveillance cameras if you have them to see exactly when he left this room? I'm going to go to his mothers house." she says.

"Of course miss." The man disappears behind you.

You drive,, Mr. Lopez sits in the passenger seat, a fairly blank look on his face.

You arrive at a nursing home.

"He stayed here? Goddamn." Elle sighs.

"Mr. Lopez can you please go inside and inquire if his mother is available to talk to?" she asks.

Mr. Lopez goes inside, and returns a few minutes later.

"The secretary told me that visiting hours are only between 8 and 5, and that it is for family only."

She sighs. "Fuck."

"Will you tell them that her uh. Daughter in law is waiting outside in the car and is just passing through on her way to Washington? She wants to see her mother in law before she dies. And this will be her last chance."

Mr. Lopez nods, before heading back inside.

A few minutes later he comes back.

"She replied that "if it was so urgent, she should come in herself.' I tried to stress the importance of this, but she was adamant."

Elle grumbles, buttoning up her jacket and braiding back her hair. She tries to affect a morose and worried facial expression.

"Thank you Mr. Lopez please join me." she says and walks in to where the receptionist is.

A black woman watches you come in. She looks very impatient.

"Can I help you?" She demands. Her nametag is obscured by her shirt.

"I am so terribly sorry madame to bother your fine establishment this evening, but I am so desperate to see my mother in law, as my body gaurd Mr. Lopez explained to you, please just one exception? It was her dying wish to see me," she says , giving her biggest saddest eyes, lip dipping just slightly in a gorgeous pout.

She sighs.
"Fine. Down the hall on the left, room 201. Sign here." She hands you a sign in sheet.

She signs in as "Emme Fillipe", and goes down the hall.

"Thank you so much Madame, I am so grateful for your hospitality." she replies.

She heads to room 201, and slowly opens the door.

There is an old woman asleep in her bed.

"Mr.Lopez please gently wake her," she requests, nodding to him, "thank you."

Mr. Lopez gently shakes the woman until she wakes up.

"Eh, what. Who are you? Whats going on?"

"Mr.Lopez? Please wait outside and keep anyone from coming in," she says softly, while the woman is still half asleep.

"Ma'am. My name is Emma, and I'm looking for your son, he's a very dear friend of mine , have you seen him recently? He is not returning my calls.

"Can't be. Emma's dead. He told me so last month."

"Ma'am? Can you hear me? I said Sienna, not Emma, who is Emma?, are you alright?" Elle affects a terribly concerned face and watches the woman closely.

"I'm fine, don't berate me. What did you wake me up for?"

"I was wondering if you had seen Mr. Fillipe your son? I am looking for him," she says.

"I told you, I haven't seen him in a while."

"How long exactly ma'am? Do you have his phone number? I'm very worried you see, anything he said he was planning on doing?" she asks.

"He gave me his phone, in case anyone called, but didn't give me a charger." She points to a cell phone on the windowsill. "He was by a couple of weeks ago, big hurry, said his boss had run into trouble, and he needed to lay low for a while."

"May I take it? I will have my assistant bring it back once I charge it for you, I am quite worried, and then, when it is charged, you can tell me if he calls? Would that be alright with you ma'am?" she asks.

"Sienna. Whats your last name?"

"Altair." she replies, already picking up the phone that the woman gestured to, ready to bolt if need be, though her voice and body movements are calm.

"Alright, Emma Altair, I 'll remember that." She goes back to sleep.

"Thanks," she says, getting out as fast as she can, the phone buried in her pocket.

"Mr.Lopez, lead the way out of here please."

Mr. Lopez does so.
