Sideways research Empty Sideways research

Theo had started digging through the sanctum library and researching different topics. The problem was that the arcane information dealt almost exclusively with spirits and while he found that subject fascinating in it's own right he was after more information than just that. He had actually spent the first few days reading up on spirits to get a foundation of knowledge on the subject. Then, slowly his researching turned to the side columns, the foot notes and implied facts. Theo actually found it fun, if a little frustrating at times.
He would have five books spread and would look be tween then, crossrefernce, compare descriptions, get side tracked into trying to find out where certain essences came from; all just to find out that there was a spiritual spring somewhere in the mountains in Tibet guarded a powerful spirit and members of a legacy called the Perfected Adepts.
It was trying to learning how to craft pottery from an art history book. Yes, there were certain parts that helped you gain insight, one book might have a block of writing telling you how to cast things in clay and you learned the evolution of pots over the centuries but it lacked detail for someone to do it without significant practice.
Still information was information and it was more than the Mysterium was giving him by way of knowledge. Plus he was learning tons of things about the spirit world (though even some of that was beyond him without actual understanding of the Arcanum).
For Theo though, learning, no matter what the data, was its own reward. So during his spare time his time he sat cross legged on the floor surrounded by the library.
