Sewers Continued: (ATTN: Mathew, Grip-of-Steel, Dave)

As the werewolves continue to look for their offending target, they notice their vampire allies begin to scratch at themselves wildly. They scream in agony as one by one they drop to the floor writhing before their bodies turns into piles of ash. It looks almost like spontanious combustion, only without the flames.

Matthew watches in shock as the vampires collapse, including two monstrous ones that he had somehow failed to notice. His hands grip the halberd tightly, as he shouts out to the sewers, "Is this your doing, Bethem? Is it?"

Grip-of-Steel watched in horror as the vampires disintegrated. After a moment there was only ash left and the young wolf grasped the torch like it would be the only thing to keep him alive.

Matthew's outburst is greeted with silence. He slowly calms down, and looks for any tracks that can't be tied to his former companions, hoping for some clue as to what happened to Bethem.

Spoiler:

You see two of your vampiric comrades have burned into ash, while the other two have become as still as corpses, no breathing, no movement. As for Bethem, you cannot find him or his remains.

Matthew turns to the other two, quite annoyed that Bethem remains a mystery. "I think we can assume that they're all vampires, and given the state of two of them, I wouldn't be surprised if these two," He gestures toward the two "corpses", "are still alive. Or at least what passes for alive among them.

I dont think we should just leave them here. If we take them somewhere safe, I can make sure that no humans will stumble on them and wonder."

Matthew sighs. "The Beshilu will have to wait for another day."

Grip-of-Steel just nods. He lits up another torch as the first one is almost done.

Narration:
The two of you carry the bodies out in the darkness of night. Dave covers your backs, looking for any sign of bethem or mortal investigators, but none show. Finding a nearby abandoned house, you put the bodies in an inside closet that can't be seen from outside, and close the door. Matthew then wards the area against human intrusion. (humans need a resolve+composure roll to enter the house.) Finally, he places a small note with each body, with his name and cell phone number.
