Description
Mel is the sort of person who just can not be placed into a clique or subculture based merely on his attire. One night he'll be in a three piece suit, hair trimmed neatly, and completely coherent, and the next he'll have dyed his hair a strange color and have a nearly 'spacey' look, and many assume he's some sort of drug-addict.

Which isn't the case at all.

Mel looks to be eighteen years old, with messy-black hair and ice-blue eyes that are alternately intense or dazed. He's small, and has the shape of a person who was not exactly well-fed prior to his Embrace. He's pale. Too pale for someone who uses the Blush of Life as ardently as he does.

And he's definitely not 'all there'.

Oddities

1) Even those who aren't familiar with Mel know within moments of meeting him that he trafficks with things that are not normal. Depending on the circumstances (usually when he's abnormally stressed or upset), these things may manifest themselves. Candles wink out, their flames turn a chilling shade of blue or green, or the temperature around him may drop noticeably.

2) He is never without some sort of Divination implement. Whether it's Tarot Cards, I Ching Rods, or Runes, and is obsessed with the art and the truth in it (Derangement: Divination Obsession).

3) Talking to Mel is a bit of an adventure. Sometimes he's coherent and completely normal. At others he's speaking in seeming riddles and metaphors. Depending on the location, he's often found just staring into seeming nothingness, or listening to music only he can hear.
