Surprise!! (ATTN: Asa)

Ishani goes back to their haven, painting in hand and opens the door quietly. She checks all of the rooms first, to be sure Asa is not home, then goes and finds the picture hooks. Knowing the perfect spot for the painting, Ishani places the hooks in the wall and sets it carefully to hang. She steps back and admires the painting in it's new home. With a smile, she goes into the bedroom to change and pulls out her phone. Sending Asa a quick text, she changes and waits for his return.

Asa released Olivette for the evening and stopped by the front desk to see if he had any mail or messages. He was pleasantly surprised, and curious, about Ishani's text. Taking the elevator down, he entered their Haven.
He resisted the urge to do Desi Arnaz impersonation.
"Hello?" he called out, taking his jacket off and dropping his keys and phone on the counter.

Ishani had placed the painting in a position where Asa would not miss it as soon as he entered the main room.
Ishani came out of the bedroom dressed in a casual pair of loose jammie pants and a cute tight jammie shirt.
"Nice to see you home for a change." Ishani says as she approaches Asa for a hug.

Asa stifled a laugh, as he mentally superimposed an image of her with her sword, knives and gun over the jammies.
"It's your fault," he teased, hugging her. "'Let's join a Covenant' she said," he continued with a grin, and kissed her before she could retort. He kissed her long and deep -- just in case she had lengthy retort, of course.
"How was your night?" he finally asked.

Ishani laughs. "Better then yours aparently. I have a surprise for you, though."

A surprise?
The last surprise had been when she'd found him going over financials for his 'project'.
Asa followed her into the main room, eyes finding the new painting.
Wow. That's definitely a surprise, he thought as he studied it. It was lovely the way the dark tones didn't distract from the subject matter. More importantly, it spoke to the nagging doubts that he sometimes had about their relationship. This expression of her thoughts about them was unexpected... and wonderful.
"I love it," he said softly, reeling her in by the hand to put his arm around her.
She was full of surprises.

She smiles. "Well, since we don't see each other as often as we might like, I thought it would be nice to have something to reflect on. Eva did it. She's one of the new kindred in the city. Her paintings are beautiful. I am thinking of talking to Rahyna about letting her host a gallery in the Museum, so the city can admire her work and purchase some of their own if they so wish."
