Winds of Change

Kai adjusted his cuff links. At least he could go to a Consillium meeting in a suit and not get grief on what he was wearing. It had been so long since he had been to one of these, and even then not all of the order were present. That's when he was officially recruited as an arrow.

"What is your purpose?"
"To hold men to their word, and protect the world from the entities that would hurt or perverse the man and his word"
"That seems like a very large purpose"
"If it's easy to achieve, would anyone hesitate to put forth the energy?"
Kai's teacher looked satisfied with the answer.
"You will do well with this order. Go now and speak with those men over there"

His life had been set before him. Not too long after he met West, and had moved from one crisis to the next. This was his life, and he doubted he would be lucky enough to find a student that would serve both as an apprentice and a lover.

He had to get past the notion that the people he protected were somehow less than him though. That led to dark places, and he had already started venturing into way too many of those.

He adjusted his tie and smiled. "We're off to see the Wizard" he continued humming while softly chuckling to himself.
