Word of the Day

OK just because Frost makes fun of me all the time and says I make up words (sometimes they are real words) I have decided to put up my "Huh is that a real word" of the day

today's word is

MORBIDITY

I do not think defenestrate means what you think it means.

I think the word that i use that totally confused most of the people i work with is catywampus and yes it is a real word (no matter what Frost says) it means askew

I had slices put in my optic nerves and its called fenestrating... So that my spinal fluid would stop making them rupture... I guess de fenestrate would be different.

It means throwing someone out of a window.

My favorite "huh" word is "formicate." It always makes people do a double take.

The only Captain Trips I know of is from The Stand, but that didn't seem really relevant...

That's the only Captain Trips there is as far as I reckon.

Apparently Captain Trips may have been a nickname of Jerry Garcia? Not sure where I read that. Possibly Wiki, which of course isn't the most accurate source, but maybe that's where King first heard of it.
And of course before The Stand there was The Beach, a short story of his set in a world after Captain Trips.

My first horse was registered as The Dark Tower and his barn name was Roland.

Second horse registered Cry Pardon barn name of Eddie.

Third horse I learned my lesson and named it nothing to do with those accursed books because the other two horses were EXACTLY like the characters.

Roland? Dangerous.

Eddie? Junkie.

Did someone say The Dark Tower?! I haven't read those books in ages. Granted I only got a far as Wizards and Glass before some asshole stole my book...

Yeah... it was a rough series to end. It was not how I was expecting things to go, let's say that. Another couple of years, I'll probably pick them up again and be a bit kinder to them.

I got up to 4 a looooong time ago.

And then he randomly waited and only released the last three in like the past six or seven years.

I'm still waiting for book 12 of the Wheel of Time.

I dont think I can pick them up... I read them ALL in a four week period, and was SO emotionally invested... *sigh*...

Poor Roland... Moreseo... Poor Jake and Oy.

Don't ruin it for me!! I still haven't read them all yet.

Granted, most of my attention book-wise is in The Dresden Files.

Shhh! Don't want to spoil anything. But yes, poor Jake and Oy. Poor everyone, really.
Lexi: Word just came down today that what would have been Jordan's final WoT book will instead be a trilogy. First one will be released in November, the next is 5 months after, the next 5 months after that.

I knew it wouldn't be able to fit all in one book. There was just soooooooo much that was left unfinished.

I'm just so glad that Jordan managed to put together enough with his wife that it could get finished.
