- Spoiler:
Logos awakened his senior year of college. During a storm one night lightening struck the ground near him as he was walking home. The next thing Logos knew was that he was standing in an open field. Before him a tall tower of energy and words. Guarding the door stood a being of fire and light. It bowed and allowed him to pass as he entered. Strange symbols started to appear on the walls as he walked in. The stairs were made of light. Gleaming bright steps ascending into the air. Logos stepped onto the first stair and he felt a stir in his chest. As he ascended the stairs the stir kept growing and growing. Along the way the symbols continued with him, growing more complex as he went higher and higher. At the top of the tower was a pedestal on top of that was an open book. Looking down he didn’t recognize any of the names, in fact as far as he knew none of them were in any language he could recognize. He ran his hand over the book, loving fingers feeling something that he wasn’t sure was real. It reminded him of the books he had at home, of the books in the library, of the books he hopes to one day own. After his hand passed over the book his name appeared where his fingers had passed so lovingly over it. At first his born name, Nathan Teller, showed on the page then it changed looked like the symbols he had seen on his way up. The book then closed itself with the sound of thunder. He awoke to find himself laying in some grass by the sidewalk he was on. Only five feet away a hole was blasted into the grass, he staggered away doubly confused by what just happened. The next day there was no article in the newspaper about a lightning strike nor was there a hole in the grass.
He was introduced to awakened society and took his mage name, Logos, soon after. After he graduated he continued onto graduate school as he had planned. Some strings were pulled that allowed him to stay in town and attend graduate school there. Logos had chosen to join the arrow because he felt that they best expressed what he felt. Sure he wasn’t a born warrior, or really capable of extensive physical exertion but he felt that conflict was eternal and to him the best way to stay on top of it was to act. That all changed though when he was introduced to a Perfected Adept his 2nd year of graduate school. Intrigued by the discipline and will that was needed to be such a being he talked with the Adept and set his mind to joining their ranks. It took him 3 more years to complete his Ph.D. After which he seemingly disappeared, his friends and family only knew that he had gone to some camp thing. A year later he came back, his time spent at the Adept’s citadel had help to focus his mind, soul and body. He decided to move to Sacramento to see what he could do.
Logos is markedly cerebral for an Arrow. While he is capable of physically fighting he enjoys intellectual challenges far more. He is willing to do what he must, even if that means doing the jobs that normally fall to the newly awaked. He doesn’t mind, to him it is a way to practice humility. Realizing that most of his awakened life has been spent in academia or the citadel he accepts that he will be seen as new. Moving to a new city does that. During his time at grad school he studied the occult as well as philosophy. His time training to become a member of the Adepts helped him to learn both magical and mundane ways of caring for people’s health. Having spent his early awakened years primarily secluded from human society and from mage society as well at times. His gnosis rapidly spiked and has since hit a plateau. His superiors in the Adepts felt that he had spent too much time focusing on himself and not enough out in the world. Hence his recent departure from the citadel and return to awakened society. They have threatened to cut ties with the aspiring Adept if he does not show that he is capable of following the path of the Adepts. Since particular threat hangs over Logos, having found something that he truly can call his path he refuses to fail at it.
