Inevitable
Jack sat over near the breakfast nook in his room, feet propped up on the table. His eyes were staring at a newspaper he picked up after feeding. It still surprised him how willing some girls were to get into bed with strangers without so much effort. Kind of frightening when he thought about it long enough.
Doesn’t matter. She’ll be right. But this…
The latest headline called his attention when he picked it up in the first place. Coroner missing. Signs of a struggle, possible kidnapping… And one the page, a picture of the Doc himself. He knew very little about the killer running around slicing everyone, but it wouldn’t be much of a stretch to assume he was involved. “Fuck, at this rate no one will be left in this bloody city.” He muttered as he flicked the paper onto the far side of the table. Reeds plans to become Prefect look like they were going ahead, if not quite as they had planned it. But that does leave the possibility that the prince might suspect us… Na, Reed made sure that the primogen knew that they weren’t kicking him out anytime soon. Even if it was the Doc's idea at the time.
He shook his head and reclined in the chair. He slipped his phone out of his pocket and dialled Hylands number. Best to let the guy know about this if he didn’t know already.
