Re: Orphan vs. Tug
Orphan grabs his daisho and straps it over his back, rolling his head a few times as he does so.
"Good point about the enemies. 'Anything goes' works for me. We also don't konw when the enemies are going to attack, so instead of spell prepping, what say we go with what we've got at the moment, plus whatever we can pull off during the course of the fight?"

Re: Orphan vs. Tug
Tug nods. "Agreed." He leans forward to shake Orphan's hand, just as he did as a team captain before every game. "Good luck."

Orphan shakes Tug's hand and says 'To you as well" in response to Tug's wishing him good luck.

Re: Orphan vs. Tug
[color=brown]Tug eyes Orphan's daisho warily, and decides the best way to win this fight is not to give him a chance to use it. He rushes forward and tries to apply a Tug Hug on Orphan...
...but comes up with nothing but air, as Fate pulls Orphan just past his grasp.
- Spoiler:
- 2009-06-05 13:43:36 Tug rolls 2 to Tug Hug (Brawl 5 + Str 3- 6def+armor) (WillPower) 6, 7, 6, 6, 6 failure

Re: Orphan vs. Tug
Orphan is surprised - but pleasantly so, Tug being an ally - to see how quickly the big man moves, but is even more pleased to have avoided his grasp. As he shifts past Tug's attack, Orphan fluidly draws his katana, then swings it in a subtle arc... not to strike Tug, but rather to perform the mudras necessary to cast a rote.
- Spoiler:
- Quick Draw to draw as reflexive action
2009-06-05 14:05:03 Orphan rolls 8 to Xceptional Luck Rote (Fat3+Manip2+Occult3) (10 Again) 4, 4, 4, 3, 9, 8, 9, 3 3 successes

Re: Orphan vs. Tug
Tug hears his position coach's advice echo through his memory, which he gave frequently, whenever he missed his assigned block. Not that it happened often.
That play's dead. Who's ready for the next play?
Tug has a feeling that Orphan is deadly accurate with that pig sticker, and decides to even the odds a bit. In his mind's eye, he meets a Grizzly in a forest, and walks directly into the bear, wearing it like a suit.
The 'dox makes his nose bleed, but Grizzly Tug doesn't really notice. He lifts his head and roars a challenge that echoes throughout the church.

Re: Orphan vs. Tug
Orphan is impressed by Tug's level of skill in the Life Arcanum, and he pauses just a moment before going on the offensive, taking that time to figure the best route of attack and the right moment to strike. he decides.
"Best to try to end this quickly,"
Orphan strides forward, he sways his sword back and forth, seeking Supernal guidance as to just the right moment to strike...

Re: Orphan vs. Tug
As Orphan sidesteps claw swipe from Tug, he slashes downward with a vicious overhand kaburi attack.
Bear/Tug screams, his voice primal in its savagery. The blood all over the floor is his, but he barely recognizes it, as he tries to knock Orphan down, knowing he has little time to gain victory.
Orphan parries Tug's swipe with his katana, then slashes inside his guard while his opponent is vulnerable.
(OOC – this puts Tug at 8L and 1 Ag damage)
Bear/Tug falls to the floor with a thump, hot, sticky blood covering the floor of the church, as he reverts to his simple human form.
Orphan immediately goes to Tug's side and attempts to stabilize his wounds until Ankh can attend to them.
Once Tug is feeling better, Orphan holds out his hand to shake and says “Good fight. When you’re ready for a rematch, want to go best two out of three?”

Re: Orphan vs. Tug
"Gonna'...eat you...for lunch." Tug tries to smile, despite the pain. He knows all about pain. Or it might be he's trying to bare his recently departed fangs, it's hard to tell.

Re: Orphan vs. Tug
Orphan chucks Tug's huge, thick shoulder, though gently, and chuckles. "That's the spirit."
He points over where Falx and Teegan are about to face off. "Let's watch how Teegan and your bro do."
