First stop- chapter house Empty First stop- chapter house

Pausing before the doors of the Chapter House, Twist mentally screamed at her beast to shut up. It didn't work. It never did. Resisting the urge to sigh, she pounded on the door in what she called a 'loud knock.'

She wasn't terribly familiar with the Chapter House. It was the Dracul's place and seeing as she wasn't Dracul and had never really expressed any interest in it all she tended to not stop by for tea and crumpets.

She did hope that Veritas was here...

Narration:

When Twist knocks on the door of the Chapter House, it creaks open a few inches. She can see the door had been forced open, then shut again.

She doesn't hear anything from within.

*Baise*

Pulling out one of her knives, she holds it loosely in her hand as she shoves firmly against the door, opening it. Stepping inside she waits for a second, getting a feel for the place.

She didn't like the quiet. She didn't like that the door had been forced open. She currently didn't like alot of stuff.

Slowly she continued deeper inside, searching for someone or even just a hint of a beast. Proof that another kindred was still alive here.

Narration:

The door opens into a foyer, then another open door leading to a hallway. The lights are off. All the windows are completely covered by heavy, thick curtains, so the only light Twist sees that is coming from outside is the faint glow of distant street lights that comes through the open front door. There is a bit of light cast by other sources - the feeble green glow given off by smoke alarms and so forth - and she sees some faint light coming from a doorway down the hallway, but overall the light is poor, and the atmosphere gloomy.

In the faint light, Twist notices something on the carpet and floor just a few feet inside the door: a long pattern of dust or ash. She can see this pattern broken by the impression of footprints which lead toward the hallway.

So far she doesn't detect any sign of the Beast in this place.

A frown mars Twist's face. She may not be the most intelligent being roaming the streets of Sacramento but even she can recognize what ash in a known kindred gathering area means. Despite the fact that she doubts anyone, especially Veritas, is currently residing in the place she pushes forward. There is the set of footsteps...and while she hoped that they were a vandals, preferably the same one who rammed in the door, there was always the chance that they belonged to whoever made the ash.

The muscles in her wrist flexed as she shifted her grip.

First, follow the footsteps.

Second, search the place. Allowing that she doesn't find something nasty at the end of the footsteps trail.

Narration:

From down the hallway, Twist hears a metallic clanging sound. She follows the footsteps in that direction; they appear to lead to the room from which a diffuse light shines. From what she can recall of the chapter house, she thought this room was a library or den of some sort.

As she cautiously approaches, she sees the source of the light: a large tropical fish tank, in which swims a large, rather ugly fish with a rounded head and rows of tiny, sharp teeth. The room holds many comfy-looking chairs, pedastals displaying statues and vases and other artworks, and numerous tall bookshelves. The floors are well-finished dark-stained wood, covered by large carpets of middle eastern design. She also sees a man.

He is of strong build, but not very tall. He is dressed in ragged clothing, and she can see he has long, tangled black hair. He is standing in front of a standing suit of plate armor which is missing one arm, and she notices the pieces of armor on the floor. In his left hand, theman holds an ornate-looking spear with a long, thin head. In his right, he holds a metal gauntlet, which he tosses to the carpet. He is mumbling in what sounds like some foreign language, his voice deep, almost a growl.

The man is turned away from her, and gives no sign he's noticed her presence, but even without seeing his face, she can feel a sense of threat emnating from him. He is clearly kindred, and has blood stronger than her own.

*Find Veritas* That was what the Prince had told her to do. Not only was the Kindred in the room not one she knew...he was also most definitely not Veritas. And while she had a great deal of trust in her fighting abilities, she also knew when she had the cards stacked against her. Turning she quietly retraced her footsteps back to the Chapter House's exit. She still had the Grindhouse to check for Veritas.

Once safely outside she did stop long enough to send a quick text to Asa, before heading to her car, her knives still firmly in hand.

Narration:

Twist is able to leave the chapter house without incident. Apparently the other vampire was too distracted to notice her presence.

She is also able to find her way to the Grindhouse without incident. The theatre is running... a double bill, the original versions of Halloween and The Hills Have Eyes. Inside, she finds no evidence of any kindred whatsoever.

Twist didn't bother to hid her scowl as she walked away from the grindhouse and to her vehicle. The night was a wash- strong kindred she didn't know was looting the Chapter house, no Veritas at either of her custom hang outs, she was still hungry and she still felt out of balance from whatever it was that had hit her the other night.

Her scowl deepened briefly as she pulled out her phone. She had ended up not sending Asa a text earlier but she couldn't skip out this time. After she finished she let her phone snap shut as she ideled in the parking lot.

A feral grin flashed across her face suddenly, chasing her scowl away. Well- she hadn't found Veritas but she hadn't been killed either. And while she was still very hungry, she was in a spot that catered to those liking horror and plenty of mortals in sight.

Tucking her phone away she turned on her heel and headed back to the grindhouse. Along the way she kept her eyes open for someone, or hell- a couple someones, who wouldn't mind a tag along to the group.

*I mean really- who could say no to someone who was stood up by her boyfriend and now had no one to hang on to throughout the scary movie? And she absolutely had to have someone to hang on to...she was a scardie-cat.*

Adjusting her features to match the persona she was adopting, Twist began to hunt.
