Little Lamb Empty Little Lamb

Jayant remembered the story well. It was told to him by his mother as a child.

The little lamb would wander the fields, everyday edging closer and closer to the fence. The lamb's mother would bleat out the same warning.

"Don't stray too far little lamb, the naga will come."

The little lamb would run back, afraid of the beast. The next day he would wander further still.

His mother would give the same warning.

For many years, this would be the same.

Until the day the little lamb's mother never called. Turning to see, very close to the fence, the little lamb saw his mother being eaten by the naga.

The snake hissed, "You wandered too far."

The little lamb screamed.

If Jayant was feeling any stronger, he would have told the story to the mugger Hector had brought him as a way to bring some wisom to the dim light of his existence. Instead, Jayant simply drank from the man until he passed out, replaying the tale in his head. Smiling as he dropped the mugger, Jayant turns to Hector.

"Little Lamb wandered too far."
