Julia is the alpha of Los Sangrientos, though not because she is the strongest, most deadly Uratha in the pack. She is not; probably not even in the upper half. Nor is she alpha because she is the smartest or most cunning pack member. There are several members of the pack keener and craftier than her. She’s not even alpha because she is the most knowledgeable in the ways of rituals and rites or because she has become exceptional at cowing the alien denizens of the Shadow into submission, though she does excel in these areas. None of these things cause her Los Sangrientos packmates to look up to her.

No, Julia is alpha of Los Sangrientos because she is the most intense, determined person many of them have ever met, and because her packmates trust in her resolute determination to do right by them. Whenever she puts her mind to accomplishing anything she becomes like a predator zeroed in on her prey. She locks in on her target. She becomes inexhaustibly patient. She moves in, slowly and steadily, until the time is right to strike. Then she pounces decisively and without hesitation.

Julia is not only a survivor; she thrives in the worst of situations. She is constantly coming out on top simply because she is tenacious. Though she knows all too well that she has weaknesses, she accepts nothing else of herself.

Julia wouldn’t be so striking if she weren’t so intense. She’s the smallest member of the pack, and yet she can lead it by force of her extremely strong personality. It’s hard not to notice her when she enters a room. She has a look about her that lets you know she’s in charge, even when surrounded by a pack of large, powerful, and hungry predators.

Julia has dark, tangled raven hair that extends past her shoulders, though she does occasionally weave it back into a braid. Her untamed, emerald eyes dart here and there, on constant watch for something lurking just beyond your sight. She has a pretty face, though it’s down-to-earth not glamorous, and she looks young for her age.

Julia’s thin, and she could look like a frail twig easy to break were it not for the power of her presence and the force of her bearing. She dresses in plain clothing; jeans, dark boots or sandals, and sleeveless shirts make up her most common outfits, though she will wear a loose fitting sundress when it’s warm and the mood strikes her. She has a colorful partial-sleeve tattoo on her left arm depicting a murder crow flocking on top of a carcass. She had it done when she coaxed Carrion-Crow-Pecks-the-Eyes into becoming the pack totem.
