I died tonight

Jack opened his eyes. He felt like he'd just died and had been reborn. He'd just been on his way to the gas station on the corner of the street when he'd been grabbed and pulled into a space between buildings. He knew he'd been bitten, and then he felt like he was dying, but it felt great. It was about then that he blacked out.

He stood up and looked around. The street looked the same as it had when he was attacked, this little alley did too. There was no sign that he could detect of his attacker, who or whatever it was. He walked back to the sidewalk that he'd been pulled from, and stood there looking back and forth each way.

What just happened? He thought to himself.
