Think one of the reasons the Movie is hated is because Wash got killed, everybody loved him...

Couldn't care less about the preacher... but I loved Wash XD

I doubt a sequel will ever be made but if it does it will never be as good without Wash. BTW look up on youtube Wash reading his own eulogy. It is hilarious.

I think Whedon killed off Wash so that fans would be less apt to bug him about sequels.

On the subject of the moviefilm:
The sexy tiny killing machine girl was so forced.
She was cool when she was just psychic, and maybe occasionally shooting a gun.

Lady doesn't need to twirl a double-bladed spear thingie to be awesome. In addition, did anyone else notice that Inara busted out a goddamned bow and arrow while they were waiting behind the barricade?

On another note, Jubal Early is awesome.

And yes, I think the same about the uberness in the end, Inara knowing how to use a sword was enough, more then enough actually...

Of course that River with just a gun could had worked greatly

I think those things--Inara fighting, River being uber--only seemed forced because we never had the benefit of a second or third season to delve more into those characters. I'm sure eventually we would have seen more of River's progression towards becoming the weapon the Alliance was trying to mold. Same with Inara and the structure of the Houses, the trainings and expectations of being a courtier.

Well yeah, maybe, but even then... I mean a Courtier an skilled hand to hand combatant AND a skilled range attacker? Kinda makes it a bit over the top...

Could she be any more WonderWoman?

And I also think River didn't NEEDED to become an Uberweapon, a Psychic is way useful without she being able to kick mayor ass, tho I do get that seeing the future would make it easier to fight, but that does not give you neither the dexterity nor the strenght to kick mayor butt, not to mention the stamina...

I mean... it would be nice to be a strong woman without her having to be some sort of WonderWoman (Not that she is an specially bad character, just Uber), would be nice to see a woman fitting 'her role' and still being strong without the NEED of being physically powerful

I'll admit I,ve never seen either the show or the movie (let the cries of "Heretic!" commence!) but I've read a few posts left and right about it, and there is one I use semi-regularly to make people laugh.
