Profile Question Empty Profile Question

Post by Kim_Possible Sun Apr 26, 2009 3:03 pm

I added my IM addys to my profile, but I'm pretty sure no one can see them (Law can't, for example), and I'm not sure why. Any help you can give me would be awesome.

Profile Question Empty Re: Profile Question

Post by Kim_Possible Sun Apr 26, 2009 3:30 pm

I have, but it is not a browser problem. It is a template problem. When I look at Law's profile and view the source code output by "profile.forum" I see:

Code:
<dl id="field_id-16"><dt>AIM Address: </dt><dd><span class="field_uneditable"><a href="aim:goim?screenname=stephisthelaw" alt="stephisthelaw" title="stephisthelaw"><img src="http://2img.net/i/fa/empty.gif" alt="stephisthelaw" /></a></span></dd></dl>

"stephisthelaw" is her AIM addy, but I can't see it when I view the actual page (inside or outside of the frame). I'm not at all familiar with the architecture of this board, but if I had to guess, I'd say the problem is in the style sheet.

I just checked and I can't see any IM addys for any of the members, though when I view the source code, I can see them as demonstrated above. For example, when I look at your profile, I can't see anything:

But I can view the source code and see that your AIM addy is greygoose1337.

Very Happy While I've got you here... Wink

Am I just missing the place in the profile to enter age/birthday? I can see it on the postbit of some users (you), but not others (me).

The birthdate entries have always been a bit flaky -- if you want, you can PM me yours and I'll add it in via the admin utility and we can see if that works?

Very Happy I don't want to make any extra work for you. I was just curious. Message boards (and how they work) are a hobby of mine. Thanks again for all the help.

Thats the official reason. The unofficial reason is he's got Ethan Skemp held hostage, and we have to do what he says or else.

@Kim - it's not biggie, really.

Ethan Skemp, hell, it's because i publicly humiliate Malcolm and you guys love it.

As long as people are bringing up issues, I haven't been able to see the emoticons or the icons on the bbcode buttons for ... I don't remember how long.

It was adblock. I had blocked illiweb a while ago because it would always time out and I didn't want to wait for it. Then I promptly forgot that I'd done it. *sigh*
