Mrs. Scotts doesn't bother bringing Mr. Stanton along, and tells him that for the next few days, he has a vacation.

It isn't easy to sunproof the hummer, but enough duct tape and heavy cloth did enough of a trick. She and Mr. Lopez then drove out to Drytown California. Mr. Lopez rented a hotel room for himself, while she slept in the car. The next evening, she and Mr. Lopez went to her sire's home. She knocked politely on the door, and waited.

The door opens to reviel a young lady that Jane had never seen, but yet she looke vaguely familer

Mrs. Scotts audibly coughs to hide her surprise at seeing her daughter. "I am Mrs. Lopez; your mother, Mrs. Jane Scotts, sent me."
She just let that sit.

The girl looks at you...and turns her head to the side as if in thought

My mother? ummm my name is Jennifer Hanson not Scotts, so I think you have the wrong address. Where are you looking for I might be able to help.

She seems a little nervous now

" My apologies miss Hanson. Indeed, I must have the wrong address. Thank you for you help. I'm looking for two people actually. Perry Scotts, Mrs. Scotts eldest son, and a man that goes by the name Snake." Mrs. Scotts then describes what Snake looks like.

At the mention of Snake her head dips and she no longer looks into your eyes

Master Snake is inside, do you have an appointment? Do you want me to announce you Mrs. Lopez?

"I would like to introduce myself, if you don't mind." Mrs. Scotts steps inside, Mr. Lopez following after her.

As you push past her she tries to bar you way but is no match for you and is quickly running behind you attempting to cut you off

Mrs. Scotts gets to that door she knew oh so well.....

Mrs. Scotts stops just shy of the door.

"Very well, announce that his daughter has returned."
(she spends the moment looking about for invisible folk)

Ms. Hanson opens the door and slips in...moments later she comes back look a little meek

The room beyond is dark, as the both of you go to enter she stops Mr. Lopez

Mrs. Scotts strides into the room she left after so short of a time. She left a weakling, who barely understood auspex. She returns a master. She walks proud and confidently.

"It has been nearly 50 years since you brought me into this world. My blood has become strong, and I desire to learn about my lineage."

He looks at her and seems a little taken aback

"I currently reside in a city where many of my cousins come from distinguished lines; the Lynx, the Khabit, and others. What line am I from?" (she notices that her ring is missing. but chooses to ignore it currently.)

The smile slowly came back

Those are the truly troubled ones. Ones that think the shadows are not good enough. Those that think that we need more of a reason and then find they only have a single purpose. Where as you and I can do many different things out in this wild world we find ourselves in.

Mrs. Scotts nods. "Thank you. I also came to tell you something to make you proud. I have mastered auspex." She lets that hang for a moment. "But now I am without strong direction in my life. I thought that I should pursue clan politics, but having achieved the position of Whip, I find myself quite content at my place. How do you spend your nights sire?"
Mrs. Scotts tone has lost a lot of its formality, and some of the nurturing mother has crept back into her voice.

I spend my nights gathering information and puppeting my network of spies.

Mrs. Scotts nods at this. "Thank you sire. Perhaps that is what I shall do. And if you are ever in Sacramento, here is my address; I would be honored to have you at my home."

As she tries to hand him the address he recites it to her

You think I let my prized child leave and not keep my own tabs on her? Watch yourself thier are deep shadows in that city, places that even I cannot see into.

Mrs. Scotts smiles as she retracts the offered card. "Thank you sire. I will keep watch." She bows, and heads home, grabbing her ghoul on the way.
