Hound Returns

Elle returns to Mrs. Scotts the next night, well rested and glutted on blood, having drunk her fill of Nepenthe'd blood with unholy glee.

She knocks on the door at Scotts place.

Mrs. Scotts welcomes Elle in with a more somber face that usual.

"Mrs. Scotts, what's the matter?" she asks, frowning.

"Well, aparently I'm not as perceptive as I thought I was. Currently I am awaiting a reply a letter from Alder Lady Au Pair Dupree about who owns the hotel. Once that is cleared up, then I'll be able to help you. Regardless, she still feels you need more supervision."
She brightens up, the corners of her mouth rising a tenth of a millimeter, and her eyes widening just a similar amount.
"Fortunately, I have a plan, one that I can't see how any in the covenant would disapprove."

"A plan huh? Well, I was just gonna drain that ghoul, thats what I decided, taking him out of the game plan..." she says.

"very well. I suggest finding a longer reason than that, embelish it a little. The plan consists of figuring out who this bastard is thats gutting vampires, and help take him down. I stress help because the bastard is practically invincible."

"What does this ghoul have to do with that guy?" she asks, following her inside.

"Little. This ghoul was my plan, but Dupree wants more. Therefore we will give her more."

"Well, I'm going to go get the Abigail chick tonight after we finish here." she says.

Mr. Lopez runs in with a letter. Mrs. Scotts opens it, reads it, and pens a quick reply.
Mrs. Scotts doesn't look angry, just...disturbed.
"well my dear, things are never easy. I was mistaken, page tutorship usually requires about a year. The book I gave you was just one of many. It is unfortunate, but it is necessary. To do otherwise would be no better than throwing you into the meat grinder."

"What the FUCK?! A year? Thats the biggest bunch of bullshit I've ever heard..." she growls quietly, at least not actually screaming, figuring that would be unseemly.

"Why?"

Instead of answering, Mrs. Scotts hands over the letter:

How
you test Hound Moraine is entirely at your descretion, however,
normally the term of Page service lasts for a year before she is
allowed to be accepted as a full member. Now I understand if this time
frame seems extreme to you, but the entire covenent must feel that she
is ready to join our ranks, not just you or I. I have not heard and/or
seen anything to say she has been tested in any way other then finding
a run away ghoul. I do hope this was not your only test for her. Being
a member of the Society has many facets to it. There is the political
tutoring that must be seen to, the social niceties that must be
practiced and the understanding of titles, as well as the understanding
of colors, girfts, and flowers in that society. I believe when she has
met these requirements, she will then be allowed to become a full
member.

Alder Lady Au Pair Lioni Dupree

Mrs. Scotts puts on a fairly inquisitive face.
"I have a question for you; how long did it take you to build up your drug dealing business?"

"A week, junkies are easy to find and I give the best fucking highs, it doesnt even cost anything and the cops can't touch me because there's no way they can find any drugs on me... " she says.

Elle suddenly looks at her phone.

"FUCK, gotta go, Prince needs me, I'll call you." she turns and runs to her truck.

"Please do, especially if I can be of assistance." Mrs. Scotts calls out as the truck drives away.
