New City, New Fears

The streets were quiet, the roar of cars seemingly distant. The street light barely seeped through the windsheild of a old, grey sedan. Sacramento was new to Jack, he spent no more that three hours here. It was typical for Jack to check the city for any other Kindred ad get back in touch with the Movement. Find out where he stood in the eternal higherarchy and get settled. But that didn't happen. Not this time.

The fear took hold, dragging the beast back to the surface. Even now, Jack cowered in the back of that Sedan like a child that spotted the boggieman rising from underneath their bed. He didn't know what it was. Nothing like that made him so terrified in his life. The threat of death itself didn't provoke such a reaction out of him. But it did, and Jack was terrified.

Minutes? Hours? He wasn't sure how long he was sitting there, tremebling and hoping he would go unnoticed. But he couldn't stay there. No matter how much he wanted to stay, he had to move somewhere else that was safer. Jack slowly climbed over to the drivers seat. He leaned his forehead against the steering wheel and gritted his teeth. "Keep it together Jack. keep it together. Keep it to-fucking-gether." He said unde his breath like it was a motto to live by. He raised his head, turned the key in the igniton and lisened to the engin come to life.

He had to find the Movements Prefect in the city or the prince. Either will do. He didn't want to waste the night away in his car and let the sunlight consume him when dawn came. He put the sedan into drive and pulled into the street, hands practically crushing the wheel.
