Yeah, it's become painfully obvious I can't do things on my own. Wink Road and I had started forming one up, and more would be great--espesh if Organiker is going to disappear.

Problem is that some of the stones (including both the ones Armstrong has) are damaged to the point where we aren't sure which arcana represent.

So we do a little guesswork! Magic's an art, not a science. Put your math book away sometime and you'll see. So we put the wrong stone in the wrong obelisk... what's the worst that could happen?

Somebody puts the wrong stone into the wrong slot and the two Ananke merge into one massive engine of destruction bent on turning us into corned-beef hash.

Or maybe someone's soul gets sucked into the eeeeevilllll Obelisks or they get knocked unconscious and blasted across the gauntlet to be picked up by Banishers who's idea of fun is vivisecting helpless pentacle magi.

STR 3; you dont have to do anything to cast an Improvised Spell, regarding the Grapple. Touching helps with some Arcana, but I don't think it does with Prime.

so, making sure I have this right:

If i cast the celestial fire against him, I am penalized by 6 (plus another 3 in wound penalties,) for his strength pluse his armor. If I cast it against his pattern, I am penalized by 3 (pluse another 3 in wound penalties) for just his armor. Correct?

Celestial Fire is natively an Aimed spell; that is, you would suffer DEF and Armor penalties, then your additional Wound penalties.

Converting it to a direct pattern attack (which you are capable of) would simply subtract the appropriate Resistance Attribute (Resolve or Composure -- both 3), and then factor in Wound Penalties.

It would also still be Vulgar.

I didn't want Matter to get a hold of his stone while it was just lying around. It's been kinda frustrating him how the Ananke keep picking stones up willy nilly.

If Captain does anything other than Channel Mana this round, it better drop Spirit -- because numbers-wise, I don't see Captain staying on his feet after another Grappling damage attack.

That's just me, though.

I think we would be best served by Ruby turning off spirit, and then more mana to Animus and Armstrong while spirit reanimates. Then theo can turn one off as well. Oooh, i like that. If Ruby, Armstrong and Theo all put theirs in this round (assuming everyone survives the hurty) that will put the ananke at 2 paralyzed at the start of the next round, that will give Joshua the change to take one from the dropped spirit, and captin putting one in. 3 paralyzed, two not. At that point, things will be easier. A lot easier.
