Hi. I found your site on the White Wolf Dark Pack page. I've had a chance to look around and I am anticipating playing here

Right now, I'm working on a Spring Changeling concept. That's pretty much my favorite NWoD system, with Vampire running a close second.

I'm looking forward to posting ICly soon, and I'm certainly pleased to meet you!

Quich question. What are the mood threads for?

You can read through mood threads to get an idea of how players are using them. They're generally a way to post what characters are doing or thinking between scenes; anything that you want to do that doesn't involve interactions with other characters probably goes in the mood section.

Mood threads are also used to show STs what your character might be working on in their down time -- developing skills, adding rooms to their sanctuary, getting a job for Resources, etc.

They're also great for char development and to let others get a feel for your toon, like roadnottaken said.

You can also do very minor interaction with another character if you have explicit permission from that character's player to 'ghost' write them.

Upper right corner of the site -> "Profile" link (In white-grey cursive gothic font).

In there is a Signature section, and an avatar section.

You're referring to the banners, right? I think you have to make those yourself.

They're made in Photoshop or paint or some such...

Ah crap, that probably means you actually have to not-suck to make one properly.

I'll try my hand at it (starting right now with a dirty "Save File As..." from one of the existing banners ).

You can probably get one at the right size already. It's what happened with mine.

Try Google Image search, you can specify the maximum size you want the picture to be. If you can't find what you want in the small images, I can offer you to resize a big image into a suitable avatar size. Point me to the image you want, and I'll work my magic (Covert, not Vulgar).

I submitted a vampire character, though I'm not in yet

Frost already approved my character so I'm now preparing to enter play (reading, lurking, the works ).
Also tried to do something with the banner-signature thing but this is as good as it's going to get.

No. The ST's removed Edit IC because some people tend to abuse that option so you live with what you post.

Oh, noes, the eternal agony of spelling mistakes looking at you accusingly! But I see why you'd restrict such EDITing, I'll see if I can manage.

I was trying to get my character to interact with yours and Frost's.

I checked to see if you guys had posted anywhere else with those characters (you didn't, unless I missed it). Can I then assume that you hadn't left yet (because you didn't say so explicitly) or would that be the wrong conclusion to reach?

Just asking because I'm just starting out and am prone to screwing things up unless told exactly how not-to-be-stupid.

In my character's background I wrote he interacted once every other month with the Movement. I included it in the character description and figured that would be enough. Damn me and my assumptions! (Also, should I just EDIT it out of my character description? I can see how it could be annoying for other players if I decide they have seen my character before.)

Naa, its ok. Everyone screws up. Jack only arrived in the city this month so he doen't know many kindred in the city. Also, they were going to, but they haven't exactly started packing up just yet.

Heh, and I just posted I've been out of the (Kindred) loop for two months.

Sorry, assumed Jack had been around a wee bit longer. Can you help me out with getting this introduction a bit smoother? Basically Max walked up to Jack to 'get the word out' that he wanted to be a more active in the Movement (he'd pretty much been a moocher/do-nothing).

Are you okay with changing it up a little (instead of 2 months, I'd have been gone for 2 weeks and seen and/or heard about Jack in connection with the Movement)? If not that's fine too and I'll just chalk it up to the wackiest torpor-trip ever.

Well then instead of typing a whole new thing for just one person...what a waste that would be...I'll just highjack this one and say I'm new here too...to everything! So hopefully I'll be able to find someone with a WoD book in my area *stretches and looks through papers* Shouldn't be too hard with a brother-in-law who is like master of rpg/gaming! Otherwise character creation and playing might be... a little...hmm, difficult.
If nothing else I can ahh...'appropriate' b-i-l's DnD books and hold them hostage until I find something

checking out the site, I think I'm gonna try and play, very interested in playing changeling. I have always loved the game, but never had a chance to play. as a side effect, I have about a thousand characters that I've made for fun in my spare time.

Hello from me too! I've lurked on the White Wolf forums for awhile and now I'm lurking here too. I just submitted a Changeling character last week but I forgot to write down the stats for my own records I'm hoping once it's approved I can access it somewhere.

You should probably resend it via PM, we can no longer get sheets off the character creator.
