~Narration~

Mrs. Scotts is suddenly in the kitchen, watching some kind of strange stew with striped fruit being cooked; you stir it a few times, and offers it to a young woman standing next to her for tasting. The young woman nods her head, when suddenly there's a loud, unintelligible shout from the back yard.

You drop the spoon, and says something quietly to the young woman, who rushes to the door, only to see claws gutting through her as soon as it's open. Blood spurts through the wounds, and sprays across the floor as the girl is ripped to shreds in seconds.

A tall man in black robes, covered from head to toe, walks through the room, and leaps back momentarily as Mrs. Scotts hand suddenly explodes in flame, then vanishes from sight. Mrs. Scotts hand extinguishes in surprise as claws are suddenly sticking straight out from her chest, and she feels the bite on her neck, and the blood draining....

As John and Navaja talked, he spotted something in the corner of his vison. Quickly turning, he saw someone large and...Deformed? Johns eyes went wide. "Shit! Something is going in the boardinghouse."

Jayant materializes next to Mrs Scotts, his kukri reversed in his hand, his stance low.

"Target?"

"What is it? Should we call the courts?" She looks around, and spots the backs of people going into the house. "If there's more of them in there, we aren't going try to take them." she says to John, hoping he doesn't want to argue that statement.

"Whatever killed these people killed them, and drank their blood. He also had claws. We need to find out why he went after these people. Ideas?" Scotts is blunt and to the point, anyone trying to recognize her as Invictus would be baffled.

John pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. "We just have to pull them out of there before they get massacared...or worse." It was obvious he wasn't going anywhere untill he got them out of there. He wasn't going to stand around and let people die, it went against most of his own personal belefes.

The knife dissapears once more as no immediate danger was present, not before making a small cut on his palm.

"If we knew more about these victims, then we could find a motive." Jayant's black eyes kept scanning the other rooms, his hand resting on the handle of his kukri.

Navaja sighs,"If we go in there, I might be able to make them leave. But that would require us going in there to be massacred, or worse." She rolls her eyes "Bad option number two is you could call they boys in blue. But aside from the fact that I personally hate that one, they might not get here in time. I'm still voting call the courts. It's the option I dislike the least."

Navaja is not nearly as generous as John, and feels that anyone who's not in her gang had better have their own backs. They aren't her friends, and they're not Lost. But even strangers don't deserve to do time in the hedge, so it's obvious from looking at her face that she could be pretty easily convinced to help them.

John sighed and scratched his head, scraping sounds could be heard. "Well...Do you know any contracts that can scare them out of there? If you do, we won't have to actually go in. Once their out, we can inform the courts about this and maybe get some help with keeping people out of this place."

"That's the thing...I have a few tricks, but I need to be able to see them to do anything at all. If I can talk to them, too, I can do a real job on them. But we're going to need to get at least as close as a window into a room that they're in." She pauses a beat, and shakes her head, "We're going up there, aren't we?"

Jayant nods and puts on his most friendly face. Seeing his comrade subtley fade, he smiles wider and turns to Mrs Scotts, indicating the door to the streets.

"Shall we, Madame Lopez?"

Jayant 'Detective Jambal' Nagaraj, laughs quietly and leads them from the boardinghouse, ducking under the police tape and holding it up for Mrs Scotts. He also holds it up slightly longer than necessary.

Sunshine slips under the tape, straining cause of his height and mass, but manages to get under before Jayant lets go. He slips a little over to the right of the pair and waits to see what happens.

Navaja's eyes grow wide as she sees Sunshine come out of the house, along with Mrs. Scotts and Jayant. "Um, John... didn't you say that people don't come back to the scene of the crime? What about monsters?" She sees Jayant hold the tape up for the monster. As they come nearer, she whispers to John "Great. They're working with it. How fast do you figure it runs?"

John quickly turned back to the boardinghouse, noticing everyone leaving. He stops for a moment and looks over 'Ms. Lopez' and her "detective". Other than being a rag-tag buch, things didn't add up at all even with a monster running around inside. "I assume your done Ma'am?"

Jayant clasps his hands behind his back and stands one step off from Mrs Scotts' left shoulder, and he seems to be looking at the boardinghouse.

His peripheral vision, however, is fully on the two faux-cops.

Johns eyes narrowed as his gaze switched between Ms. Lopez and her detective friend. Shit. They are beyond weird, they're something else...But what? Better not give them anything. "I'm afraid we don't know. As far as we can tell, this was a beserk killing by a wild bear." He said, trying to sound as rational as possibe infront of, well, whatever they are.

John nodded, but he looked a little frigthened. "Thats the thing...I doubt they are even human. Kenned them and well...They are really off." He shook his head and truned to Navaja. This is something the courts need to know. We need to find a pay phone or something."

Navaja narrows her eyes "Did you do this after they came out of the house? Cause something might have happened to them in there... My abuela used to talk about people getting possessed by evil spirits, and I think that place is an evil spirit playground these days. She eyes the house suspiciously. I have the feeling we're going to be trying to be trying to track them down about 3 hours from now."

She thinks for a moment, and remembers. "We passed a convenience store a couple of blocks back on our way here. We can make a quick run there and get back to our posts in not much time, if the courts don't have us hunting little old ladies."
