Searching for Clues at the Park (Ghoster & Logos)

Ghoster opens his mouth to cry out, but the overwhelming stench of the grave forces his jaw to shut in self-defense. He spends another Dime to let the Supernal show him just the right moment to escape its grasp.

Ghoster breaks free from the arms of his assailant, sending gobbets of flesh flying -- a veritable flesh cookie buffet which would make a Tleilaxu weep. A fallen figure begins to rise.

Ollie manages to stay on his feet as he moves up to the bleachers and tosses the green-lit glowsticks over the bleachers to light the park up for his friends.

It looks like the legs faction has won.

As Ghoster breaks free, most of the horde turn their attention to Logos, flailing at him with sharp, yellowed fingernails. Lines of red begin to criss-cross his arms and face, and his red blood is running freely.

By the bleachers, two of the figures try to pick up more rocks to throw, but fall over their already fallen comrade -- it's a comedy of errors. Valkyrie finds herself eying three splashing forms on the ground, their waxen faces ghastly in the green light of the glow sticks.

(( 4L to Logos. Low light penalties reduced to -3. Logos is up, -2 Wound Penalty applies to all Actions, including Reflexive footing check. ))

Logos barely remains able to stay on his feet.

He lets the chanting fade as it is no longer what he wants. Instead he throws his will into a healing rote.

The most recent wounds heal, he is still visibly injured though.

Guy maintains his balance and keeps running to the bleachers. Then shines the flashlight into the area where the zombies are thickest, figuring he would be more help doing that than charging into the fight and turning himself into the zombie equivalent of a lean cuisine.

Pretend they're balloons pretend they're balloons, Valkyrie runs the mantra through her head as she hurries over to the pile of fallen Deadites, stomping down on the closest with her heavy boots.

Valkyrie hears a sickening wet sound, and feels as if fallen twigs are breaking under her boot. The ghastly green-lit face grimaces in shock and spews black, brackish liquid all over her leg.

Arms flail at Logos, but slip off his rain-slicked clothing.

Hallelujah, Ghoster thinks as Guy's flashlight illuminates the melee. He realizes two things rapidly- First, if he fires his weapon again, he risks hitting Logos, who is already bleeding; second, that the one day of unarmed combat training provided by Uncle Sam was woefully inadequate. As an Imago presents itself to his consciousness, he dismisses his mental warning system, so that he can concentrate.

In his mind's eye, he remembers the Rocky montage, substituting himself for the mush-mouthed boxer. As "Eye of the Tiger" reaches the chorus, Ghoster feels his last Dime slip away, and hopes he's invested it wisely.

Ghoster, anxious to get some distance between himself and the undead, hands Logos the lighter he bought only yesterday, and grins from ear to ear. "You know what to do with this, right, LG?" Then he books ass.

Arms reach for Ghoster as he runs, but he slips past them.

Ollie jumps down on the wet ground and begins scrambling under the bleachers. He calls upon the luck he's secured for himself to help him. Fate is fickle, however, and he doesn't get through any faster than Val could.

As Ghoster runs away, the remaining dark figures converge on Logos, pale hands and yellow nails flashing in the light, almost appearing disembodied as black and grey suits blend into the darkness. Sounds of pain come out of the mosh pit, and red droplets fly through the rain... then silence.

The fallen figures flail at Valkyrie, attempting to right themselves, but looking more like fish out of water than anything else as they splash and slip ineffectually.

Guy had had enough. There was no plan, no organization, and it was going to get them all killed. If no one else was going to bark orders he would. "Ghoster get your ass back there and start dragging Logos' ass to the car. Val keep the zombies off Ghoster while he does that. And Ollie once I get over the bleachers help me move them out of the way so they have a clear shot to the car. We are getting the fuck out of here NOW!"

With that he jumped up and started climbing the bleachers.

Valkyrie, screaming, is unable to hear the sickening sound of tearing flesh from the midst of the dogpile.

Usually he loathed having orders barked at him, but Guy was absolutely right. Ghoster's plan fell apart when Logos dropped...it was time to get the hell outta here, before his carelessness killed his new friends. He ran back towards Logos, putting his pistol back in his pocket, grabbed him by the armpits and began to drag him back towards the car.

Ghoster grabs Logos by the leg, and yellow nails flash out again.

Ghoster suddenly lurches as the weight he's pulling is gone -- except for the leg he's holding.

Ollie pulls himself through the bleachers, and in the green light can see the undead creatures brutalizing Logos.

Oh God.. Logos

He climbs to his feet, yelling to his allies that are still standing. "GET THEM OFF OF HIM I CAN STILL SAVE HIM!"

An explosion of activity occurs as Ghoster stands there with a leg.

One of their legs.

Hands reach for him, clawing wildy, almost keeping him from seeing Logos' other leg torn off by a fallen figure.

He can hear it quite clearly, though.

There's enough blood mixed with water that it's almost reached the bleachers. Yellow eyes watch Valkyrie run past, then turn their attention to Ollie and Guy as they begin to rise.

Guy finishes climbing over the top of the bleachers just in time to see Logos get torn limb from limb. The need to throw up alone is almost enough to almost bring him to his knees but some how he manages to stay standing up.

Come on Guy think... think what do I do..what do I do

"Shit! Everyone to the car before we all... before we all end up dead!

Guy stands by the bleachers ready to run in case the others need help getting a clear path to the car.

This was too much for Ghoster to bear. There was no time for grief, no time for indecsion. He won't leave Valkyrie behind like he did...like he...

"Armsssss...", hisses a rancid voice, grabbing at the fallen Ghoster. Nails dig in like fishhooks, pulling...

All hopes of saving Logos fade away as blood mingles with the rain. He had to get Ghoster and Val out of there, even if he had to carry them or throw these zombie freaks out of the way, but he wasn't strong enough. Yet. He releases his mage sight, to free up his pattern a bit.

He begins to circle around the zombies between himself and Ghoster, using his distance from the zombies as an opportunity to form an imago in his mind of himself, only stronger. Easily lifting heavy weights, finely toned upper body. He completes his casting, and again feels the taint of the abyss on the spellcasting. He shudders as the pain of mitigating the paradox wracks through him, and a small trickle of blood runs out of his left nostril, only to be washed away in the rain. He feels the spell work, however, as his abilities with life cause the imago to become realized. His muscles bulge visibly as he becomes empowered by the spell.

(Let this go down in the records that not all obrimos arrow perfected adepts are combat monkeys....that being said if i make another combat character it is going to use guns or a sword...lol.. poor Logos we hardly knew ye)

A tangle of bodies fall splashing to the ground as they all attempt to assault the fallen Ghoster. Another hand digs into his leg, tearing flesh and muscle.

The three waxen figures nearest the bleachers begin to climb up them, yellowed eyes fixed on Guy as they circle him.
